Third Ear is a voice-first interview platform. It allows you to create AI-led interviews, send them to participants, collect spoken responses, and automatically turn conversations into structured insights.
Your workflow is simple: Create → Send → Collect → Review → Generate insights
Create your account
- Go to the Third Ear website.
- Click Sign up / Sign in.
- Log in using your Google account or Discord.
You will land on your Dashboard.
Create your first interview
Click Create Interview, then choose a creation method:
- Interview Maker (form-style editor + branching).
- ThirdAI (generate from audience/goals/# questions).
- Upload template (Qualtrics format file or JSON).
For your first run, keep the interview short: 6–10 minutes.
Add questions, logic, and consent
Supported question types include open-ended (voice), categorical, and Likert ratings. Configure branching by routing from a multiple choice answer to the next question.
Tip: Start with a consent/disclosure step (consent -> proceed; no consent -> end).
Preview & validate
- Check question flow.
- Confirm branching works correctly.
- Test microphone permissions.
- Review estimated interview duration.
Send to participants
- Click Deploy.
- Add participant emails manually or upload CSV.
- Select response mode: Voice, Text, or Both.
- Send invitations.
Participant experience
- Email invite -> open link in any web browser (desktop or mobile).
- Allow microphone access when prompted.
- Pause/resume anytime. If they close the tab, reopen the same email link to continue.
- Starts with your consent disclosure; ends with a quick rating/comments prompt.
Monitor responses
Track invitation status:** Sent**, Opened, Completed. If completion rate is low, shorten the interview or enable both Voice and Text modes
Review responses
Use Response Details to listen to audio, read transcripts, and jump/annotate. Third Ear automatically transcribes and diarizes every interview.
Generate Insights
Click Go to Insights next to a deployment once you have enough responses.
- Identify recurring themes.
- See evidence-backed quotes.
- Explore patterns across interviews.
Insights are based on aggregated responses, not single quotes.
Ask follow-up questions (Query)
Ask new questions across transcripts. Third Ear queries each transcript and aggregates answers - even if the question was not explicitly asked.

Collaboration
Use Workspaces to invite teammates and share interviews securely.
Troubleshooting
- Microphone not working? Refresh page and re-enable browser permissions.
- Participant dropped off? They can reopen the same email link.
- Insights unclear? Collect more responses or refine questions.
